Bulletin 2
Problem
2- The printer stops after printing two sheets of paper when
printing a Web page.
This problem
is an unusual one. It does not crop up often and sometimes the
people who report it find that it goes away if they reboot their
system and try again. Sometimes, though, that doesn't work.
If
you are experiencing this problem, you should first try rebooting
your system. If rebooting doesn't work, you can try the following
workaround.
Note:
This workaround is written for Microsoft Windows users, but the
same procedure should work on a Mac. Just press the only mouse
button when the instructions say to press the left button.
1. In your
browser, display the page that won't print correctly.
-
Put
your mouse at the left end of the top line of text.
-
Hold
down the left mouse button and move the mouse down the page.
The text will be highlighted. When you get to the bottom of
the window, keep the left button down and move the mouse to
just below the browser display window's frame.
-
The
text in the browser should continue to scroll up and you should
keep highlighting text as it does.
-
When
you're done, you should have everything highlighted, right
down to the Top of Page link. Like this:
-
Once
you have highlighted all the text, you can release the left
mouse button and go up to the browser's menu bar and select
Edit.
-
Then
select Copy from the drop-down menu. This will copy all the
highlighted text into your system's clipboard.
2. Now open
Microsoft Word.
- Select
File from the Menu bar and select New from the drop-down menu.
- You will
be given a choice of available templates. Choose Blank Document.
- When a
blank page is displayed on the screen, put your mouse anywhere
inside the page and click the left button once. This will cause
the cursor to appear in the upper left-hand portion of the page.
- Now go
up to the menu bar, select Edit, then select Paste Special from
the drop-down menu.
- The Paste
Special Dialog box will open and give you some options:

- Select
Unformatted Text and click the OK button.
- The text
that you copied from the Web page should now be displayed in
the Word document. It won't have the different sizes and colors
of fonts that were in the original, but it will be all in one,
easy-to-print (I hope) document.
- Before
you print it, you might want to save it. (Select File>Save and
give the Word document a name.)
3.
To print the
document, select File from the Microsoft Word menu bar.
- Select
Print from the drop-down menu.
